Mr. Richard R. Malcolm's Obituary
Richard Malcolm, age 66, of China Twp., died unexpectedly in his home on February 24, 2014. He was born January 17, 1948 in Algonac to the late Wilfred and Goldie Malcolm.
Richard worked for Port Huron Seaway Terminal and later retired from the St. Clair County Road Commission. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. Richard transferred to the Marine Corp Reserve the Army Reserve and retired from the Air Force Reserve as a Senior Master Sergeant.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Penny (Freeland) Malcolm, children, Mike (Melissa) Malcolm and Richard II (Katie) Malcolm, grandchildren, Zak Clapp, Wil Malcolm, Makayla Malcolm, Richie Malcolm III and Alyssa Malcolm. Sisters, Virginia (Keith) Muxlow and Dianne Sanders, brothers, Bill Malcolm, Roger (Mary Jo) Malcolm, Alan (Carol) Malcolm and Reginald "Junior" (Joyce) Malcolm. Sisters in law and brothers in law, Barb Malcolm, Clarence "Bud" Erdman, Ann and Don Whittaker, Ed and Judy Stoutenburg, Cliff and Lori Freeland and Jim and Nancy Freeland.
Richard was predeceased by brothers, Keith and Don Malcolm and sisters, Marilyn Brusate and Sharon Erdman.
A private gathering of family to celebrate Richard's life has taken place. Memorials in his memory are suggested to the Marine City Old Newsboys.
