Richard "Rick" Kaufman's Obituary
Richard “Rick” Kaufman, age 70, of Cottrellville Twp., passed away suddenly July 25, 2022. He was born January 7, 1952 to the late Melvin and Virginia Kaufman. Rick worked as a Diesel Mechanic for B&V Construction and retired from there after 30 years, he is a member of the Operating Engineers.
He is survived by his spouse of 21 years, Marilyn “Lynn” Dluge; daughters, Kristy Kaufman and Jessica Kaufman by previous wife Diana Jo Kaufman; siblings, Kathy (Walter) Gleissner, Thomas (Cynthia) Kaufman, Patricia (Frank) Senger, preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Kaufman Jr., who is survived by his wife Carol Kaufman. He has several nieces, nephews and many loving family members.
Rick really enjoyed being outdoors. He loved his home and land and watching the deer frolic out back. He had a lot of fun running around on the Canam Defender and his Harley Ultra Classic 100 Anniversary motorcycle with Lynn. He especially enjoyed his trips up North with the fifth wheel in tow to Lewiston. He was meticulous maintaining all he owned.
The barn, notably called the "museum", has memorabilia collected through the years. Everything in its place and he knew where everything was! When Rick was on the seat of a tractor, he had the world in his hands. His "museum" is evidence of this love.
Rick was an active member of the Fair Haven Eagles post 2784 as well as Lewiston Moose Lodge 2495, where many good friends were made through the years.
Rick’s daughters meant the world to him, he was their anchor! There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. They are missing him greatly. Ricky is the love of Lynn's life for the past 21 years. She says "they don't make them like this anymore!" There are so many friends that stop by and Rick would visit. He will be missed by many!
The family would like to say a special thanks for the tremendous care at Troy Beaumont and The University of Michigan Hospital provided for Rick.
A visitation will take place Saturday July 30, 2022 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. from 2:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being said at 5:30 p.m.
