Richard E. Heimes' Obituary
Richard E. Heimes passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 83. He is survived by his loving children Marisa (the late Bernard) Ellery and Jeremy (Renee) Heimes; his grandchildren, Andrew (Tori), Alan (Megan), Sara (Matthew) Papa, Megan, Nicklas, and Joseph; and his great-grandchildren, Quinnlynn, Leo, Luella, Annino, Rudy, Rue, and Archer. Cherished brother to Gary (Gail) Heimes and Lynn (the late Terry) Thomas, and a beloved uncle to many nieces. He is also remembered by his former spouses, Christine, Shirley, and Jean. He was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Shirley Heimes. Richard served 15 years as a Detroit police officer before moving to Port Austin where he continued his service in law enforcement. While being a police officer in Port Austin, he also ran his own charter fishing business, Bandit Charters, sharing his love of fishing with others. He enjoyed football, fishing, and being there for his grandkids, especially at the ballfield.
Please join the family for an open house Memorial Gathering to celebrate the life and memories of our beloved Richard on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Nolan's Irish Pub, which is located at Leaning Tree Golf Club, 7860 Smiths Creek Rd. Wales, Michigan, 48027.
We invite family and friends to come as you are, share stories, offer remembrance and celebrate a life well lived. Light refreshments and food will be served throughout the afternoon. With love, Marisa and Jeremy along with their families.
Cremation arrangements with Young Funeral Home. The family will have a private scattering of ashes at a later date.
