Richard Heileman's Obituary
Richard Heileman, age 84, of St. Clair passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Richard was born November 27, 1933 in Detroit to the late David and Matilda (Stoy) Heileman. He graduated from St. Phillip Neri High School in 1951. On September 11, 1954, Richard married Mary Valliere. Together they had 5 children. The family spent many years cruising the Great Lakes in his Classic Chris Craft. While his children were growing up he was also very active coaching their hockey and baseball teams. Later in life he discovered the joy of golfing and spent many years enjoying the game while wintering in Florida. He cared for Mary for many years as she suffered from Alzheimer's until she passed away. They were married for 60 years. Richard was blessed to find love again and become engaged to Ms. Julie Moore of St. Clair. After several years of working for others, he successfully launched his own business, Heileman Signs, in 1964. The company continues today under the leadership of his sons. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his children, Tim (Lisa), Dan (Renee'), Gary (Sheryl), Lynn Gray, Diane (Tony), 17 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his Sister: Sally Shield and Brother: Jim Heileman.
Cremation has taken place and Richard’s mass of resurrection will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. There will be one hour of visiting prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made out to the Alzeimer’s Association. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com.
