Richard Bober's Obituary
Richard Bober, age 72, of East China, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2021. He was born on January 28, 1949 to the late Edward and Jane Bober. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine. Richard married Patricia Barbas in 1972. Richard graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. Following college, Richard became a master plumber, a career he had for several years. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed sculpting and painting. Most of his art work was for around the house, or he would often make pieces to give to his friends. Richard was a member of the East China School Board and Marine City City Council.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia; sister-in-law, Stacey Barbas; brothers, Norman Bober, Larry (Karen) Bober, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements with Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A memorial mass will take place on Friday, January 28th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to mass. Memorials are suggested to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, 1820 Mt. Elliot St., Detroit, MI 48207.
