Rebecca Ann Jefferson's Obituary
Rebecca Ann Jefferson, age 70, of St. Clair, MI passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026 in the comfort of her home with family by her side after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Rebecca was born on December 14th, 1955, in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Anna Vann. She was raised in Middlesboro, Kentucky then moved to St. Clair, Michigan after her marriage to Richard Jefferson in 1974. Rebecca retired from banking in 2021 after 42 years of employment.
Rebecca is survived by her husband Richard Jefferson of 51 years; her daughters Jennifer Jefferson and Kelly (Chris) Smith, and her grandchildren, Olivia Cheney, Grace Herrick, Charles Smith, Benjamin Smith, and Joseph Symons.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Anna Vann.
Rebecca was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished “Nina.” There was no limit to what Rebecca would do for her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved, and creating beautiful lasting memories through family celebrations, baking beautiful birthday cakes for her grandchildren, and everyday moments.
Alzheimer’s disease gradually stole many of her memories, but it never took away the love she had for her family or the love they had for her. Throughout her journey, Rebecca demonstrated tremendous courage and grace.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Young funeral home, China Township, MI. A celebration of life will be held on July 9, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Young funeral home. Visiting hours will be from 9:30 AM to 11:30 prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at RoseHill Cemetery, East China, MI at a later date.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, Tina Burns, and Grace Osterland who provided loving and compassionate care and support throughout Rebecca’s journey and Blue Water Home Care & Hospice for their compassionate care.
Rebecca will always be remembered for her warm smile, generous heart, great sense of humor, being a loving wife, and an amazing mother and “Nina.”
