Raymond D. Pickle II's Obituary
Raymond D. Pickle II passed away on December 2, 2025 at the age of 73. He was born on March 31, 1952 in Ravenna, Ohio to Raymond D. and Betty Pickle. He graduated from Ravenna High School in 1970 and went on to become a Plant Manager in the fastener and automotive component industries.
Raymond enjoyed all things sports, from playing softball and basketball in his younger years to later becoming a referee. A true sports enthusiast, he was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Detroit Tigers baseball.
In retirement, Ray found joy in traveling with his wife Vicki and family, gardening, bird watching, golfing, and playing cards with loved ones. He had a passion for cars (especially Corvettes) and a deep appreciation for classic rock. He often shared stories of seeing the Eagles, Chicago and the Beatles live, proudly recalling how he once bought a $5 ticket against his parents' wishes just to experience the music he loved.
Ray was known for his impeccable style; from his watch collection to his sharp attire, no detail was ever overlooked. Beyond his interests, what defined him most was his kind heart. Ray was a generous soul whose warmth touched everyone he met. He made friends with ease, took sincere interest in people, and was known for quietly buying strangers at the bar simply to brighten their day.
Some of Ray's most cherished moments were regular date nights with his wife Vicki at the local establishments in St. Clair. He also loved their time "up north" with family, a place where he felt at peace, surrounded by nature and the people he loved.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Vicki; his children Trevor (Ida Reney) Pickle, Chad (Emily) Pickle, Samantha (Mark) Wiles, Joy (Doug) White, and Abby (Charles) Langford; and his 13 grandchildren Emma, Claire, Zachary, Anna (Matthew) Pugh, Samuel, Sara, JJ, Ashley, Brent, Christopher, Marcus, CJ, and Gabriel. He is also survived by his sisters Pat (Jim) Pangallo and Pam (Robert) Smith, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Dee and Betty Pickle, and his brother David (Becky) Pickle.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the 3:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Young-Colonial Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Hwy. East China, 48054.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society in Raymond’s name is appreciated.
