Ralph Ski's Obituary
Ralph Ski of Casco, Michigan, passed away on June 13, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born in Highland Park, Michigan, to the late Walter and Irene Skonieczny. Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer after 22 years of service. During his military career, he earned an associate degree in accounting, which led to a second career as an accountant following his retirement from the Coast Guard.
Ralph enjoyed fishing and bowling, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren, and, of course, his beloved corgi, Tucker. He loved his home and farm and took great pride in sharing them with his grandchildren, creating many cherished memories together.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara; his children, Karen (Gordon) Kettle, Susan (Floyd) Jacoby, and Keith (Brenda) Ski; his grandchildren, Heather (Devin), Ken, Travis (Sara), Kendra "That Girl", Jacob (Ashley), Meghan (Matt), and Ally; his great-grandchildren, Vivian, Everett, Emily, Logan, Link, and Jack, along with one great-grandson on the way; his brothers, Mark and Paul. Ralph shared a special bond with his grandson, Ken, who lived with Ralph and Barbara for many years and was always there to help and support them. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Sandra DeLand.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Highway, East China. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m on Friday, June 19, at St. James United Church of Christ, 9008 Meisner Road, Casco, Michigan 48064 with a visitation prior beginning at 9:30 a.m.
