Mrs. Penelope Elaine Burmann's Obituary
Penelope Elaine Burmann, age 66, of East China Twp., died November 18, 2012. She was born June 2, 1946 in Detroit to the late Herbert and Rachel Cagle.
On April 25, 1970 Penelope Cagle married Charles Burmann in Shelby Twp. She received her bachelor's degree from Oakland University in 1971 and later received her master's and specialist degrees from Wayne State University. Penelope's entire teaching career, in the East China School District, began in 1971 until her retirement in February 2010. She taught at the Marine City High School where she also was the cheerleading coach for 32 years. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, St. Clair.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Charles Burmann, sons; Matthew (Michelle) Burmann and Nathaniel (Melissa) Burmann, grandchildren; Hannah, Aiden and Samantha, brother; Terrence (Cathy) Cagle and mother in law; Leona Burmann. She was preceded in death by a son Jamie Burmann in 1978 and father in law; Edward Burmann in 1996.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday Nov. 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Twp. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to service.
