Pearl Malane's Obituary
Pearl (nee Balfour) Zimmer Malane, age 90, of St. Clair, died September 4, 2010.
She was born December 26, 1919 in St. Clair to Thomas and Louise Balfour.
Pearl married Robert Zimmer in 1941, he preceded her in death in 1983 and later married C. Francis Malane on March 24, 1984.
She was employed by Michigan Bell for over 20 years. Pearl was a member of the League of Catholic Women, Rosary Alter Society, Marysville Garden Club, St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the former First Friday Group at the church.
She is survived by her husband C. Francis Malane, nephews and nieces; Ken and Elaine Balfour, Stephen and Rosemary Zimmer, and Alan Zimmer, great niece and nephew; Kathryn Zimmer and Peter Zimmer; step children; David (Kathleen) Malane, Gerard Malane, Francine (Richard) VanHaaften, Debra Crimmins, and Marsha Malane, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Albert "Ab" Balfour.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Additional visiting at the church will be from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to mass.
Serving as pallbearers are Stephen, Alan, and Peter Zimmer, David Malane, Richard VanHaaften, and Ken Balfour.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Blue Water Hospice.
