Mr. Patrick "Bubba" Metheny's Obituary
Patrick H. “Bubba” Metheny
East China
Patrick H. Metheny, age 62, of East China, passed away on July 3, 2012, with his dog, Faith, by his side. He was born December 22, 1949 in Port Huron to Dean and Patricia Metheny. He graduated from Port Huron High School in 1968 and attended St. Clair County Community College. Pat worked at Mueller Brass in Port Huron for 43 years. Pat married Mary Esther Hamilton on June 24, 1972. Together they raised four children: Amanda (Darrick) Lund, Matthew (Tara), Katie (Sam) Everly, and Molly. He loved his granddaughters Sophia and Gemma Metheny. Pat is also survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy (Gary) Stephenson, his step-mother, Loreen, and step-sisters Bonnie, Irene and Jean, and many friends. He persevered and continued to provide for his family despite illness at an early age. He was a keen observer who had much more depth than he portrayed. He was never afraid to speak his mind and was proud of his children and their accomplishments. He will always be remembered for his great stories, numerous trips to the grocery store, playing the lottery, his famous bib overalls and love of grilling. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7 from 2:00PM until 8:00PM with a Scripture Service at 7:00PM at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the March of Dimes or the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
