Patrick M. McCabe's Obituary
Patrick M. McCabe, age 73 of St. Clair, was called to the house of God on Friday June 19, 2015 from St. John’s River District Hospital in St. Clair.
He was born June 23, 1941 to Thomas and Elizabeth McCabe in Detroit, MI. He married Patricia A. Darson on October 17th 1964.
Patrick graduated from Clintondale High School in 1960 and he went on to proudly and honorably serve our country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He was stationed at Davis Mothan AFB in Arizona as well as Tooley AFB in Greenland. After returning home, he went on to receive his apprenticeship as a pipefitter and worked his career for General Dynamics and Chrysler where he retired from. He was a devoted Detroit Sports fan and he loved his Michigan Wolverines. Patrick was more than a man. He was a devoted husband, the rock of his children, a doting grandfather and he was so proud to be the oldest of 13 siblings. He will be truly missed by so many, but will live in our hearts forever!!!
Patrick is survived by his wife of 50 years Patricia and all of their children, Veronica (Jim) Hill of Ira, Rhonda Warchol of East China, Kirk McCabe – Smith of Marysville, Tim McCabe of St. Clair and Kim McCabe of Marysville. He is also survived 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving him are his brothers and sisters, William (Marie) McCabe of St. Clair, Thomas (Kathy) McCabe of St. Clair, Maribeth (August) Cobus of Fraser, Bob (Cheryl) McCabe of Rochester, Sharon (Carl) Sielaff of Mt. Clemens, Cindy (Bill) of Livonia and Mike (Kim) McCabe of Sterling Heights. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sue McCabe of Metamora and Dave Sanctorum of Plymouth as well as several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents Tom and Elizabeth McCabe, sister Deborah McCabe, brothers Timothy McCabe, Richard McCabe, Daniel McCabe, sister Diane Sanctorum and nephew Timothy McCabe.
Visitation will be held at Young Funeral Home in China Twp. on Sunday June 21, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary. He will lie in State at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday June 22, 2015 at 10:00 am with a Funeral Mass following at 11:00.
