Patricia Ann Van Hecke's Obituary
Patricia "Pat" Van Hecke, age 79, of Detroit passed away peacefully February 24, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Thomas and Alma Scally on June 25, 1934 in Detroit. She married her husband of 59 years Raoul Van Hecke in Detroit. She loved children and enjoyed baby sitting for family and friends. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking, telling jokes, and going to garage sales. She was an advocate for cruelty against animals and contributed to ASPCA and the Humane Society. She is survived by her husband; Raoul Van Hecke, children; Rochelle (Joe) Aprile, Denise (John) Klimaszewski, Cheryl (Duane) Hurt, Renee Marshall, Raoul (Clementine) Van Hecke, Step-son; Brian Van Hecke. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and special daughter; Diana Greene (Cameron). She is preceded in death by granddaughter; Lauren Kruzinski, brothers; Phil Scally and Thomas Scally, and sister; Mary Lou Harriman.
Services will by held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 27 at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at church prior to the mass.
