Mr. Norman Henry Welser Jr.'s Obituary
Norman Henry Welser Jr., age 84, of Marine City, died September 16, 2015. He was born September 9, 1931 in Detroit to the late Norman Sr. and Bernadette Welser.
Norman served his country faithfully during the Korean War with the U.S. Marines from 1951 to 1954. Norm was an avid sports fan, following his military service he coached the Holy Cross High School football team and would often reminisce about his teams and many players he coached. Along with professional sports he also enjoyed local high school sporting events. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #856, Marine City. Norm was most proud of his seven children, their families and many accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife, Tia Welser, children; Patty (Roger), Marybeth (Dave), Marcia (Tom), Mike (Lori), Francie (Kevin), Meg (Ted) and Barbie (Greg), grandchildren; Krissy, Lindsay (David), Michael (Kelsie), Jeremy, Brent, Kyle, Jordan, Alexander Norman, Allison, John, Emily, Annie, B.J., Alyssa, Matthew, Brendan, Thomas and Gracie, great grandchildren; Ashley, Joseph, Parker, Mattison, Kaleb and Mia, sister, Jan (Harold) LePior, brother, David (Lou Ann) Welser, sister in law, Joyce Genaw, nieces and nephews; Judy, Jane, Nancy, K.C., David, Adam and Chad.
Funeral mass will be Monday September 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Visitation is Sunday 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
