Norma C. Oles' Obituary
Norma C. Oles, age 90, of China Twp., passed away with her loving family at her side on March 25, 2023. Norma was born January 26, 1933 in St. Clair to the late Edwin and Mary Trumble. On September 29, 1956 she married Roman “Ray” Oles. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2016.
As a lifelong resident, Norma was also a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. She was also an active member of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Agatha Circle #419. Norma enjoyed frequent visits with her sister, Kay, monthly card club, casino trips, a good jigsaw puzzle and a spirited card game. Norma cherished her family. Whether it was a family trip up north to the cabin or a gathering at her home. As long as it included being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she would rather be nowhere else. Norma was kind, generous and loving to all.
Norma is survived by her children, Janet (Gordon) Durham, Betty Bemiss, Cindy (Erv) Westrick, Paul (Rebecca) Oles, Patty (Steve) Russell, Ed (Katherine) Oles and Angie (Mike) Zoeplitz; 19 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Haligowski and sister in law, Bea Schmitz.
She was predeceased by a son, James Oles; son in law, Tom Bemiss and sisters, Virginia Rzonca and Bertha Artman.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday April 1st at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. are Friday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary and Saturday 10:30 -11:15 a.m. with prayers and procession to church following.
