Neel E. Welsh's Obituary
Neel E. Welsh, age 73, of St. Clair, died April 21, 2011, peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 9, 1937 in St. John's Michigan, to the late Dorothy M. (Neel) and Russell E. Welsh. Neel served with the U.S. Navy for four years. Prior to joining the Navy he lived on Welsh Land Crowne Grant in Ontario, Canada. In 1972 Neel started Welsh Trucking, he later started New Transportation and Pro Marketing. He successfully operated his trucking business until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Eagles and Elks Club of Port Huron. He also enjoyed Boating and Nascar Racing.
He is survived by his life partner Debra Mainguy, daughter Robin Welsh, step-children Jack Mainguy, Rebecca (Timothy) Malloy, brothers Thomas W. Welsh(Lori Shepard),James A.(Jean)Welsh, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 niece and 3 nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Phillip F. Welsh.
Services will be 11:00a.m. Tuesday April 26 at St.Mary's Catholic Church 415 N. 6th St., St.Clair (Corner of Sixth and Vine) Visiting hours will be Monday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home 4061 St.Clair Hwy. China, MI 48054 and Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00a.m. at church prior to mass.
