Natalie J. Choate's Obituary
Natalie J. Choate slipped into eternity on September 21, 2012. Natalie Jean Harms was born in Saginaw, Michigan on February 10, 1928 to Albert F. and Lucie M. Harms. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1946 and worked as a dental and medical assistant, for Arthur Kettlehohn and Herbert Helmkamp. Natalie married Howard R. Choate on August 8, 1953 at St. Mary's Cathedral, Saginaw. Natalie loved God, her family, and animals, and took an active interest in all the people her life touched. An avid reader, her family insists she has the world's largest collection of Betty Neels' novels. She is survived by her daughters; Karen J. Choate (recently of Saginaw), Sharon S. Choate (Marysville), many wonderful nieces and nephews, and special friends George Diehl and Kay Williams. She is preceded in death by her husband; Howard, brother; Albert "Bud" Harms, sisters; Madelyn (Carl) Hahn, and Jane (Carl) Albrandt, and brothers and sisters in-law; Gertrude Choate, H. Martin (Frances) Choate, William (Genevieve) Choate, and Mildred Choate. Natalie stood firm in her faith, courage, and humor in the face of Alzheimer's disease.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, St. Mary's Organ Fund, or a charity of the donor's choice. May the angels, and Natalie's family welcome her to Paradise. May she see the face of the Lord she loved! Alleluia!
