Nancy Uppleger's Obituary
Nancy Uppleger, age 80, of Casco Township, passed away at home with her loving family at her side on March 5, 2024. Nancy was born March 12, 1943 in Port Huron to the late Lloyd and Mabel Richter.
On June 8, 1963 Nancy and Elmer Uppleger were married in St. James United Church of Christ, Casco Twp. Nancy’s family and her church were the focal points of her life. She was an active member of St. James UCC. Nancy always looked forward to family gatherings and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nancy attended many of their events and was their greatest supporter. She also enjoyed traveling, reading a book or watching a good movie. As a beloved wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother and great grandmother, Nancy will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Elmer Uppleger; children, Mark (Jennifer) Uppleger, Lee (Connie) Uppleger and Kelly (Dan) Van Thomme; grandchildren, Taylor (Kyle) Mueller, Kerin Uppleger, Chelsea (Nick) Michling, Josh Uppleger, Mackenzie Uppleger, Trevor Van Thomme and Danielle Van Thomme; great grandchildren, Reese, Quinn, and Hayden and many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
Nancy was predeceased by her dear sister, Lynnette Osterland.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James United Church of Christ, Casco Twp. Visitation hours are Friday March 8th from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
