Nancy Jean Sugars' Obituary
Nancy Jean Sugars, of Harrison, Michigan passed away on March 7, 2026 in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Nancy was born on October 1st, 1945 to Walter and Doris Hirchberger. She married Thomas Sugars in August of 1963 and shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. They raised two children together, Amy and Shawn on a small farm in Casco Township.
Nancy graduated from Anchor Bay High School and worked as a ParaPro for East China School District.
Nancy and Tom built a cabin in Melstrand, Michigan and valued their time there snowmobiling, exploring trails, and sitting on the beaches. She enjoyed fishing, hiking and antique hunting. Nancy spent many years maintaining hiking trails for the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Tom; son Shawn (Jennifer) Sugars; son in law Rob Follebout and grandsons Zachary and Nathan Sugars. Also, siblings Ron (Karen) Hirchberger and Lynda (Joe) Rajkovich.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Amy Follebout and grandson Randy Sugars.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 28th from 2:30 to 8:00 p.m.
