Nancy Babcock's Obituary
Nancy Ann Babcock, age 77, of St. Clair went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 22, 1933 in Detroit, to the late Richard and Delores Mueller. She married Charles H. Babcock, February 9, 1957, a joyous and fruitful union for over 55 years. Nancy was a graduate of the University of Detroit (BA) and taught elementary education at St. Peter in Harper Woods. She was also an accomplished artist. Nancy was an active leader in the Girl Scouts of America in Grosse Pointe, the Art Association of St. Clair, St. Mary's Youth Education program, St. Clair Lions Club, and the Florida Oceanographic Society of Stuart, Florida. Nancy generously supported St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, St. Joseph's Catholic School (West Branch, MI), redeemer Lutheran School (Stuart, FL), and the Hibiscus Support for Families in Crisis (Stuart, FL).
She is survived by her husband Charles, 6 daughters: Barbara (Dave) Minton BFA, Beverly (Robert) Towner RN NP, Charlene (Daniel) Irvin MD, Cynthia (Thomas) Duemling PhD, Jennifer (Kenneth) Goodhue SW, Judith (James) Shaune BBA, in addition to 18 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
