M. Kenneth Smith's Obituary
M. Kenneth Smith, age 86, of Marine City, died January 21, 2011. He was born May 17, 1924 in Marine City.
Kenneth married Emily June Smith and she preceded him in death after 63 years of marriage.
Kenneth served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Detroit Police Officer for 25 years followed by 10 years as a Macomb County Sheriff working with the Macomb Co. Friend of the Court.
He is survived by his wife Jean Patton Smith, children; Suzanne (George) Hoppe, Ken (Lori) Smith, and Julie (Jim) Holaway, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sisters; Betty Wolff-Raucher and Vera Moran, and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday January 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to mass.
Memorials may be made to the Glaucoma Center of Michigan.
