Mr. Mitch Yax's Obituary
Mitch Yax, age 80, of China Township, died April 4, 2013. He was born November 17, 1932 to the late Julius and Laura Yax. He married May 9, 1953 to Rosella Kreusel in Marine City. Mitch was a Korean War veteran serving with the U.S. Army. He retired from Diamond Crystal Salt Co. following 32 years of employment. He served on the China Township Planning Commission for 16 years, he was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop #293 and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #856, Marine City.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Rosella Yax, children; Alvin Yax, Robert (Nancy) Yax, Andy (Sandy) Yax, Roseann (Raymond) Durant and Lynette (Gene) Moore, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, brother; Hugh (Evelyn) Yax, his best buddy and grandson Jeff, who never left his side and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers; Gilbert, Owen, Chuck and Judd Yax, sisters; Mary Smith and Shirley Bowers, father and mother in law; Alvin and Mary Kreusel.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday April 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Interment will follow in Balfour Cemetery, China Twp. Visiting hours are Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Monday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to mass. A rosary will be said Sunday at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
