Milton "Sonny" Jiske's Obituary
Milton (Sonny) Jiske, age 80, passed away on November 11, 2016. Sonny was a longtime resident of Marine City, moving to St. Clair in 1986.
He is survived by his wife Carroll, son Stephen Jiske, stepdaughter Katherine (Eric) Sherman, stepson Dean (Pam) Gramer, daughter-in-law Lori (Doug) Carless, grandchildren Kyle and Samantha Sherman, Robert and Alexis Gramer and Carlee Carless.
Sonny was employed for over 30 years with the Department of Defense. In his younger years, Sonny coached Marine City Little/Senior League Baseball, football and basketball at Holy Cross Jr. High. He served in the U.S. Army as a member of the Korean Military Advisory Group (K.M.A.G.) stationed in Seoul, Korea. Sonny was a member and Past Chief of the Marine City Fire Department, member and Past President of the Marine City Old Newsboys, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3901 Algonac, life member of the AMVETS Post 52 New Baltimore, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3702 Port Huron.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents Willard and Grace Jiske and his little furry friend, Cocoa. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Great Lakes Caring Hospice. To leave a message of comfort please visit www.youngcolonial.com
