Michele "Mikki" Long's Obituary
Michele Marie “Mikki” Long left this world on Sunday, November 23 after a fearless battle with ovarian cancer. In her final weeks she was surrounded by friends, family and loved ones.
Mikki was born and raised in Detroit which fostered her lifetime love of live music. She earned her undergraduate degree from Michigan Tech and worked for many years as a Medical Technologist in hospital laboratories. Mikki embarked on a career in Medical Diagnostics as a Laboratory Specialist with Kodak and held this role with Johnson & Johnson as well. After success in both technical and sales roles she found her passion in Sales Training & Development. She earned her Masters Degree in Instructional Design from NYU and held positions in Global Sales Training at J&J and Siemens.
Mikki retired to her dream home on the river in St. Clair and enjoyed music, travel, kayaking and watching the boats from her window.
She is survived by her brother Roger Long and his wife Cheryl, nephews Josh and Kyle and nieces Molly and Katie. Her kitties, Sam & Dave have been adopted and will enjoy their golden years in Arizona. She will also be missed by her many cousins and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be planned by her family at a future date.
