Michael J. Whelan's Obituary
Michael J. Whelan, age 80, of St. Clair, passed away unexpectedly looking at the beauty of his back yard, May 27, 2022. He was born March 12, 1942 to the late Daniel and Ruth Whelan. Mike married the love of his life Janice on October 21, 1994. He proudly served his county with the United States Marine Corps for 6 years when he was honorably discharged and became a very proud veteran. Mike was proud of his 50 years in the car business after serving his county.
He was an avid boater, loved keeping his garden and yard in pristine condition, enjoyed music and beer. Mike was a very giving person and would lend out a helping hand to anyone who needed something done, he was Mr. Fix it, he would always say “I can fix anything but a broken heart, but im not so sure about that” above all he enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Jan; children, Mike Whelan Jr., Greg Ball, Richard Ball, Sheila Priemer; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; brother Patrick Whelan; sister Joann Lentini, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved brother, Danny Whelan.
