Michael Thomas Meier's Obituary
Michael Thomas Meier, the son of Mary Ann Cornwall and John Cornwall was a devoted husband, father, proud grandfather, beloved brother, and cherished uncle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, at the age of 71.
Michael was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent his career as a proud member of Local 58 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. As a retired electrician, he took great pride in his trade and the work he accomplished over the years, earning the respect of his colleagues and the appreciation of those he served.
He was deeply shaped by his upbringing and the love of his mother, Mary Ann Cornwall, who was his rock growing up and remained a lasting source of strength and inspiration throughout his life.
Above all, Michael was a family man. As a father, he provided strength, guidance, and unwavering support. He especially enjoyed watching his son, Mike, play sports while growing up, cheering him on and celebrating each achievement. As a grandfather, he simply loved his grandchildren—Brody, Lexi, Luke, Sean, Blake, Brett, Irelyn, and Briella—and found immense joy in spending time with them, sharing stories, laughter, and life lessons. Michael was known for his warm sense of humor, which brought smiles and laughter to family and friends alike. He was a dependable brother and a caring uncle, always present for the people he loved.
Michael will be remembered for his high integrity, strong work ethic, kindness, and his ability to brighten any room with a joke or a smile. His steady presence, honesty, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; his children, Mike (Karyn) and Lisa Musgrove (Brian); his grandchildren, Brody, Lexi, Luke, Sean, Ireland, Briella, Blake, & Brett, , and; his brothers, Dennis (Mary) and John; his sister, Colleen Ludwig (Randy); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish his memory.
Michael joins in heaven his mother, Mary Ann Cornwall, his father, John Cornwall, and many grandparents and great-grandparents, reunited in eternal peace.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 17, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Romeo, Michigan.
Michael was the heart of his family, and his laughter, love, and warmth will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit will continue to inspire those he cherished most, and he will be forever remembered.
