Michael Edward Malane IV's Obituary
Michael Edward Malane IV, 67, passed away on July 2, 2026. He was born on July 14, 1958 to Sally and Michael Malane III in the city of St. Clair. After graduating from St. Clair High School in 1976, Mike began his career as a cobbler and shoe salesman at Witt’s Shoe Store where he learned his lifelong craft of shoe repair and saving soles. Throughout his life he acquired many nicknames, most unfit for print.
On December 6, 1998 he married Pamela Clary and they shared 27 years as dedicated partners and best friends. A steadfast supporter and confidant, she remained by his side until his final day.
Outside of work, Mike enjoyed playing softball, pitching horseshoes, fishing, and watching the Detroit Tigers, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his countless friends, telling tales from the old days and delivering the occasional off colored joke. Mike established Malane’s Marina in 1984 which continues to be a gathering place for all those he held close. Known for his quick wit and sharp tongue, you could often find him greeting guests at the Voyageur sports bar while enjoying the company of family and friends.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife Pam, his daughter Makenzie (Jim) Jurzysta, his sons Michael (Terri) Malane V and Jameston (Lillie) Clary, sister Michele Rutherford, and grandchildren Audrey and George. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Sherwood (Gladys) Lee, his parents Mike and Mary Malane, Don and Sally Leach, and his adored cousin, Robin Lee.
