Michael J. Deraedt's Obituary
Michael J. Deraedt Sr., age 74, of China Township, passed away June 28, 2022. He was born October 29, 1947 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Alex and Elnora Deraedt. On October 24, 1981, Michael married Susan Torrey.
Mike was a Vietnam Veteran that proudly served with the U.S. Navy. From 16 years of age until retirement Mike was a machinist that specialized working on screw machines. He enjoyed working on cars and was the go to guy to fix anything. His true passion was his family, cherishing his time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan Deraedt; sons, Michael Jr. (Amber) Deraedt and Travis (Courtney) Deraedt; grandchildren, McKennah, Cole and Barrett and sister, Sue Deraedt. He was preceded in death by his sister, Deb Manning.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 and Wednesday one hour prior to service. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans.
