Michael D. Deegan's Obituary
Michael D. Deegan, age 76, of St. Clair, passed away March 1, 2020. He was born October 1, 1943 in Detroit to the late Daniel and Aletha Deegan.
He proudly served with the U.S. Air Force. Upon service to his country he worked for DTE as a power plant operator and later a power plant supervisor, retiring after 43 years of service from the Marysville Power Plant. He was a self taught electrical engineer.
He married the love of his life Barbara Lee Rousseau on August 3, 1968. They welcomed twin girls Jennifer and Joanne on July 4, 1969 and later a son John on October 18, 1971.
She preceded him in death on December 30, 2014.
He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, ping pong, and taking his "buggy" for a ride up North. He was very involved with his kids activities from Camp Fire Girls to basketball. He also enjoyed taking his wife's dog Bailey out for walks. He looked forward to his weekly breakfasts at Big Boy with his Edison retiree friends.
He had a sweet tooth and enjoyed cookies the most but never saw a sweet he didn't like.
He is survived by his children; Joanne (Robin) Ketcham and John (Kim) Deegan. He is also survived by his granddaughter; Maggie Ketcham, brother in-law; Dale Rawdon, sisters in-law; Cindy (Dan) Chellew and Diane Rousseau, nephews; Steve (Angela) Rawdon, David
(Vikki) Rawdon, and niece; Cheryl (Mark) Kucinick. He was preceded in death by his daughter; Jennifer Deegan, sister; Sharon Rawdon, sister in-law; Carole Rousseau and brother in-law; Norman Rousseau, Jr.
Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to : American Lung Association or Blue Water Humane Society.
