Mr. Meyer A. Zieldorff's Obituary
Meyer A. Zieldorff, age 86, of Marysville, formerly of Algonac, died March 13, 2015. He was born April 12, 1928 in Marine City to the late Hendrick and Hattie Zieldorff. Meyer served with the Merchant Marine during World War II and following the war served with the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 449 and the Legion Riders both of Marysville. He was also a member of AMVETS Post 72, New Haven and DAV Chapter 12, Port Huron. Meyer retired from the GM Tech Center in Warren after 22 years of employment.
He is survived by children; William Zieldorff, Kathy (Cliff) Jahn, Karen Jahn and Mary (Walt) Kamendat, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is also survived by a brother, Cornelius (Agnes) Zieldorff. Meyer was predeceased by wives; Frances Zieldorff and Dorothy Zieldorff, son , Wayne Zieldorff, son in law, Glen Jahn, sister, Clara Durand and great grandson, Jake Jahn.
Funeral services will be Wednesday March 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac. Visitation will be Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to service. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion, Marysville.
