Melvin A. Osterland's Obituary
Melvin A. Osterland, age 81, of East China Twp., passed away March 11, 2018. He was born January 28, 1937 in China Twp. to the late Arthur and Laura Osterland. On October 19, 1963 Melvin married Lois Dornoff. She preceded him in death on June 11, 2016.
Melvin was employed at Detroit Edison for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was also a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Our Lady on the River Parish.
Melvin is survived by his sons, Duane (Julie) Osterland, Dave (Chris) Osterland and Dean (Alyce) Osterland; grandchildren, Travis, Trever, Becca, Kennedy, Avery, Lexy and Josh; sisters, Lucille (Jack) Arnold, Loretta McHugh and Leona Markel; sisters in law and brother in law, Karen Merill, Joyce McLarren and Tom Dornoff.
Mass of Resurrection will be Friday March 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Visiting hours are Thursday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Friday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
