Mary Ann (Sovereen) Westrick's Obituary
Mary Ann (Sovereen) Westrick
She was born in Harbor Beach, Michigan to Edsel and Shirley Sovereen on January 15, 1972.
After several moves Mary and her parents ended up in Fort Gratiot where she attended Port Huron Northern High School.
While in school, she rode 4H and for the schools Equestrian Team. She rode many events but enjoyed Barrel Racing the most.
Outside of school she also enjoyed the Michigan Trail rides with her parents. While in school she met Mark Joseph Westrick.
We were married May 1st, 1993 at St. Mary’s Church of St. Clair. We were blessed with 3 girls, Kayla Catherine, Constance Anne, and Carly Lorraine.
The Blessings continued with Grandchildren, Aiden Kenneth, Sophie Lynn, Kamdyn Rae, Malachi Joseph, and Teagan Elizabeth.
Mary enjoyed and showed great talent for sewing, crocheting, quilting, and also woodwork all while maintaining and keeping a home for her family.
She greatly enjoyed her job driving bus for Port Huron Schools until she had to leave due to health reasons. Later due to diabetes she had to undergo a leg amputation. She continued all of her crafts and running the family just now on wheels. Her health continued to deteriorate until she passed away on May 21st, 2022 in her home surrounded by family. We know a soul like hers went directly to Heaven. We can close our eyes and see her young, happy, healthy, and whole again atop her favorite horse, a Buckskin named Jud, riding the trails and running barrels.
We love you.
We miss you.
We wait to see you again,
Mark and the girls.
Mary never enjoyed formal attire, she wanted it casual. Your best pair of jeans is fine with us.
