Mary D. Porter's Obituary
Mary D. Porter, age 80, of Marine City, went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2022. She was born January 23, 1942, to the late Charles and Mary McCracken. Mary married Leroy “Mick” Porter on May 28, 1966. Mick preceded her in death on October 7, 2007. Early in life, Mary enjoyed bowling in leagues at Colony Lanes, she was a member of the Algonac Baptist Church. Mary was an avid animal lover. She especially cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Virginia (Dave) Vandenhemel, Cheryle (Ken) Sinclair, Michelle (Robert) Bronson; and 8 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her children, Leroy “Mike” Porter, Carole Davies; brothers, Fred McCracken and Ed McCracken.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Algonac Baptist Church. Visiting hours will be Thursday, May 12 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. As well as one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband, Mick in Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac.
