Mary Jane Maloney's Obituary
Mary Jane “Jam” Maloney, age 98 ½ , of St. Clair, passed away peacefully in her home on January 23, 2023. She was born to the late August and Margaret (Noechel) Hunsanger on August 18, 1924 in Ruth, Michigan. Mary Jane married David Maloney on November 4, 1950 and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1998.
Mary Jane was an avid seamstress and sewed parachutes in Detroit during the war. She was a loyal Tiger’s fan and had a great passion for music and singing, which she passed onto her children and grandchildren. They all received a special phone call every year on their birthday to hear her beautiful voice singing “Happy Birthday” to them. She was very devoted to her faith and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clair, was an active member of the Rosary Alter Society and Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by her children, Kate Maloney, Joe Maloney, Mary Ellen (Maloney) Schneider, John Maloney, Maureen Maloney (Krista Recor); grandchildren, Sean Maloney, Siobhan (Matt) Paulin, Bridgette Maloney, Jake Maloney and David Schneider; sister- in -law, Delores Hunsanger along with many nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane is preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

A memorial mass will be held Tuesday January 31, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair at 11:00 a.m. with interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
