Mary Jane Basney's Obituary
Mary Jane Basney, age 83, of Cottrellville twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 19, 2018. She was born December 16, 1934 to the late Frank and May Trager. She married the love of her life, John Basney on April 16, 1955. She was a lifetime member at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City.
She is survived by her children; David (Deb) Basney, Gordon (Betty) Basney, Mary Beth (Dale) Vanderworp, Frank (Sue) Basney, Ed (Beth) Basney, Don Basney, Connie (Brian) Bazzy, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Basney, and brother, Robert Trager.
A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, May 26 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Our Lady on the River Parish, Marine City. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, May 24 from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, May 25 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China twp. A rosary will be recited Friday night at 7p.m. There will be one hour of visiting prior to the mass at church on Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City.
