Martin H. Cooley's Obituary
Martin H. Cooley, age 83, of China Twp., passed away in his sleep in the comfort of his own home, January 19, 2025. He was born April 14, 1941 in Detroit to the late Martin and Margaret Cooley. Martin married his beloved wife Barbara Lange on June 15, 1963 in Detroit and she preceded him in death on April 4, 2012.
Martin was a very skilled carpenter and tradesman for many years and continued his skill in retirement with many woodworking projects. He was a sports enthusiast and avid golfer throughout his life. Martin made many lifelong friends through sports even into his adulthood before moving to his home in China Twp. where he made even more lifelong friends, socializing at the Voyageur restaurant during happy hour.
Martin is survived by his sons, Martin (Dana) Cooley, Steven Cooley, Robert (Dawn) Cooley; grandchildren, Samantha (Steven), Sarah (Trever), Elizabeth, Megan, Claire, Hunter, Madolyn; great granddaughter, Sofia Grace, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, William, Donald (Diana), Sharon.
A funeral service will be held on Friday January 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. with visitation on Thursday January 23, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. along with visiting on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
