Marsden Michael Murphy's Obituary
Marsden Michael Murphy, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born on June 14, 1943, in Mount Clemens, Michigan to the late Richard and Mary Murphy. Marsden lived a life full of love, service, and adventure.
Marsden married Julia Biscorner October 2, 1965. He is survived by his beloved wife, Julia Murphy, and their four children: Colleen (married to Brian Biafore), Michael (married to Kimberly), Matthew (married to Loretta), and Joseph. He was a proud grandfather to Thomas and Emily Biafore; Kelsey, Brendan, Erin (married to Ryan Yousif), and Julianna Murphy; Duncan, Ethan, Griffin, and Madeline Murphy. He also cherished his great-granddaughter, Delilah, and brothers, Richard (Melodie), Thomas.
Marsden served his country as an electrician's mate in the United States Navy. His commitment to service extended into his community, where he volunteered with numerous organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, Mount Clemens Volunteer Fire Department, Mount Clemens Good Ole Boys, Blue Water Habitat for Humanity, and the Mount Clemens School Board. He also served on the Macomb County Planning Committee, among many other contributions.
Deeply devoted to his faith, Marsden was actively involved with St. Peter's Church in Mt. Clemens for many years, contributing to the church community with the same dedication he showed in all his endeavors. In recent years, he found a spiritual home with his church family at St. Christopher's in Marysville, where his faith and fellowship continued to flourish.
An avid outdoorsman, Marsden enjoyed hunting, golf, racquetball, squash, and softball. He had the soul of a teacher, always eager to share his knowledge on a wide range of topics. Known for his ingenuity, Marsden could fix anything, often using tub caulk and epoxy to make things work just a little longer. His resourcefulness extended to his shoes, which he made last five years longer than designed with the help of shoe goo.
Marsden's legacy of love, service, and ingenuity will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Lewandowski and Josephine Wesoloski; sisters-in-law, Penny and Helen Murphy.
