Marlene Mary Morey's Obituary
Marlene Mary Morey, age 77, of St. Clair, passed away December 24, 2019. She was born July 8, 1942 in Detroit to the late Bert and Violet Ellis. Marlene taught and enjoyed clogging, tapping and line dancing with members of the Washington Life Center in Marine City. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge 2300 Richmond, where she also planned, hosted and fund raised countless events. In her spare time Marlene enjoyed crafting homemade pillows and rugs for her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Roy Morey, Renee (Pete) Barnum and Janine (Carl) Kapanka; grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan and Katie Morey, Tiffiany Peters, MacKenzie Kapanka, Richie Barnum and Jeremy Tucker; great grandchildren, Gavin, Rowland, Nash, Conner, Marshall, Rosie, and Gavin; siblings, Nancy Griswold, Jim (Karen) Ellis, Mark (Shannon) Ellis and Bert Ellis II and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Ronald Ellis.
A grave side memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday January 10th at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Richmond. A Luncheon will follow at her daughters residence located in St. Clair, MI.
