Mark J. "Sam" Ruhrman's Obituary
Mark “Sam” Joseph Ruhrman, age 75, of Columbus, passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving wife on August 21, 2024. He was born in Detroit on December 2nd, 1948. Sam married Joyce Garofalo on October 20, 1972. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Sam worked as a truck driver his whole life up until his retirement. When he wasn’t driving truck, he would be found riding or working on his classic cars. Sam was avid car lover, and a proud member of the St. Clair Cruisers. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends; Sam was always ready to have a good time. He had the gift to socialize, no one felt like a stranger when they were talking to Sam. His sense of humor and contagious personality will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce; nephew, Rob (Stacy) Garofalo; niece, Deanna (Mike) Carpenter; 5 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great great nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements have taken place. A memorial service will be on Monday, August 26th at 12:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the Blue Water Humane Society. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
