Marilyn J. Westrick's Obituary
Marilyn J. Westrick, age 79, of Marine City, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2018 with her family by her side. Marilyn was born November 10, 1939, in St. Clair to the late Theodore and Helen Zweng. On October 24, 1959 Marilyn married Alvoy Westrick in Marine City at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Marilyn was a member of Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Church, and was an active member of the Alter Society. Marilyn enjoyed being a wonderful homemaker. Among her family’s many memories they will always remember her famous pies and how she loved mowing lawn on her John Deere Tractor. Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alvoy Westrick; sons, Duane (Kim) Westrick, Craig (Beth) Westrick; grandchildren, Brian and Brent Westrick and Owen and Evan Westrick; brothers, Bob (Mary Lou) Zweng and Bill (Betty) Zweng; uncles Harold Danneels and William (Margaret) Danneels, as well as many nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in law.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, November 21 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Prior to mass prayers will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. with a rosary recital Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Clair.
