Marilyn A. McCartney's Obituary
Marilyn A. McCartney, age 77, of Marine City passed away unexpectedly, December 11, 2024. Marilyn was born August 16, 1947 in St. Clair.
On July 16, 1988 Marilyn married Justin McCartney. She worked for over 10 years in the deli at VG’s Grocery Store in Marine City. She enjoyed all her customers and made many friends throughout her career. Marilyn’s calendar was loaded with the birthday’s of all the special people in her life and she made it a point to send a birthday card to each person every year on their birthday. It was also well known in the family that Marilyn’s pumpkin pie couldn’t be beat. Marilyn’s family and friends were what she loved most. She always looked forward to spending time with them and she will be missed dearly by all who loved her.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Justin McCartney; daughters, Tammy (Dennis) Salagan and Tracey (Keith) Frantz; grandchildren, Chelsey (Greg) Sampier, Tyler (Kori) Sampier, Alyssa (Anthony) Salagan, Denny Salagan and Kyle Frantz; great grandchildren, Caylee, M.J., Zackary, Robbie, Seth, Jaxson and Aurora; brother in law, Daniel McCartney; special nieces, Brianna (Pat) Wilkinson and Leilani Wilde.
Marilyn was predeceased by her mother, Rosamonde Miller; brother, Gary Miller and father and mother in law, Jay and Reva McCartney.
Visitation will be Monday, December 16th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 16th.
