Marilyn A. Fracassi's Obituary
Marilyn A. Fracassi, age 80, of China Twp., went home to be with her Lord on October 19, 2024. She was blessed to be surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her own home. Marilyn was born October 4, 1944 in Detroit to the late Edward and Mercedes Bedard.
On June 30, 1984 Marilyn married Dennis Fracassi. They enjoyed 34 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
Marilyn was a register nurse, working in emergency rooms for over 30 years. As an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City, Marilyn would take communion to the homebound, volunteer for the Harvest Dinner and assist with many other church activities. Marilyn’s caring nature led her to also volunteer with the Council on Aging and the Food Pantry in Algonac. Marilyn was also able to share her years of nursing experience with many family and friends with end of life care in their homes. She also was fond of her home and farm in the country, which was evident by the way she manicured and maintained it inside and out. As a loving mother and cherished grandmother and great grandmother, Marilyn was always there for her family. She loved attending grandchildren’s events and was their #1 fan. Marilyn will be dearly missed by everyone that was blessed to have known her.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Charles J. (Donna M.) Ducastel and Deborah A. (William) Smith; grandchildren, Melissa (Roger) Watts, Danielle (Jay) Ducastel, Matthew, Joshua and Raelen Smith; great grandchildren, Cooper, Rylee, Cayden and Sterling; siblings, Eugene (Gail) Bedard, Thomas (Lucille) Bedard and Elizabeth (Steve) Cross; step-son, Enreko (Rachael) Fracassi and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Lauren Ducastel and siblings, Edward, James and Kathleen Bedard.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 24th at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary recital. Additional visitation at the church Thursday prior to mass will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
