Marie Katherine Bica's Obituary
Marie K. Bica, age 82, of East China, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on January 5, 2023. She was born in Detroit on June 25, 1940 to the late Frank and Victoria Wilk.
Marie was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, working in the operating room at several hospitals in Metro Detroit. She belonged to Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City and Detroit Police Wives Association.
She enjoyed bowling, cake decorating and traveling. She and Vito took their children camping and hiking throughout the United States. They continued traveling together in retirement.
Her family meant everything to her, her home has been the host for family gatherings for every major holiday and summer barbecue year after year, she volunteered at her children’s schools, was a Den Leader for Boy Scouts and went to all of her grandchildren’s sporting events, dance recitals, band concerts and theater events.
She is survived by her husband; Vito Bica, children; Frank (Katy) Bica, Annemarie (Joe) McLeod, and Diana (Stephanie) Bica. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Andrew, Alex, Allison, Liam, Camille, Duncan and Cullen.
She was preceded in death by her son; Joseph Bica and sisters; Joan (Ralph) Brody and Diane Wilk.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday January 12, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City at 11:00 a.m. visitation will take place Tuesday January 10, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. along with Wednesday January 11, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. until time of service at Holy Cross.
