Margaret E. Schroeder's Obituary
Margaret E. (Rose) Schroeder, age 83, of East Tawas, formerly of St. Clair, Michigan, passed away May 22, 2024. Margaret was born January 20, 1941 in Detroit to the late Gerald and Margaret Rose.
On June 20, 1961 Margaret married Leslie C. Schroeder Jr. in Algonac, Michigan and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage.
Margaret was a 40 year resident of St. Clair, where she and Leslie raised their family before moving north to East Tawas where she enjoyed many years of retirement. Margaret enjoyed camping and playing cards with family and friends and an occasional casino trip. She was a snowbird and looked forward to her Florida trips each year. When looking for some quiet time Margaret enjoyed crocheting. First and foremost Margaret’s legacy will be as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Leslie C. Schroeder Jr.; children, Wayne (Lisa) Schroeder, Greg (Suzanne) Schroeder, Steve (Lynn) Schroeder and Kelly (Dan) Kammer; grandchildren, April Schroeder, Jason Schroeder, Shelby (Jamie) Johnston, Ryan Schroeder, Jacob Schroeder, Austin Schroeder, Nathan (Angie) Lundy, Erica (Sam) Yan-Lundy, Brandan Kammer, Jordan Kammer and Amanda Kammer; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Elowen Lundy and Robin Yan; siblings, Gerald Jr. (Mary) Rose, Patricia Havens, Nancy Daniels, MaryAnn McCluskey, Lori (John) Hoover and Ginny (Scott) Vistisen and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her in-laws, Larry Havens, Denny Daniels and Mike McCluskey.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31st at 10:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Thursday, May 30th 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home.
