Margaret "Peggy" Meyers' Obituary
Margaret “Peggy” Meyers, age 85, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on May 5, 2017. She was born April 21, 1932 in Detroit to the late John and Catherine Liddane. Peggy married Jackson C. Meyers on July 31, 1951. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2016.
Peggy volunteered for many years with the River District Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed memberships in the St. Clair Garden Club, St. Clair Investment Club and Dance Club. She was a long time member of the St. Clair Golf Club and the Palm Aire Golf Club in Sarasota, Florida. Her golfing career included two holes in one. In addition to her love of gardening and golf she also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, bird watching and watching the freighters pass by her home. Her family will also remember her competitiveness during card games and how she made the greatest meatloaf.
She is the loving mother of Jeffrey (Connie) Meyers, John (Sandy) Meyers, Gary (Laurie) Meyers and Sandy (James Vaughn) Meyers; cherished grandmother of, Robert, Steve, Christopher, Eric, Anna, Lindsey, Matt, Shane and Keely and great grandmother of five great grandchildren. Also surviving her are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Peter Maceroni, Joe and Darlene Meyers, Marilyn Crothers; longtime friend, Maryjane Monschau and faithful companion, Duffy.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary “Sherry”, Beatrice “Nancy”, Patricia “Patsy” and Eileen.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Visitation will be Saturday May 20th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
