Margaret Fenton's Obituary
Margaret Fenton, long time Algonac resident, age 92, passed away peacefully at Lake Huron Medical Center, Port Huron, on February 2, 2018 after a brief illness. Margaret was born in Marine City to Virginia and Earl Johnson on June 1st, 1925. After graduating from Marine City High School, Margaret continued her education at Deacon Nursing School in Detroit. In 1949 Margaret married William Fenton in Marine City. They initially lived in the Marine City/St. Clair area before moving to Algonac. Margaret worked various jobs before finding her ultimate job at St. Clair Hospital where she worked as a nurse for 9 years. Margaret left the work force shortly thereafter to raise her two children Kevin & Elizabeth. Margaret was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Marine City. Margaret loved staying active & was a member of many clubs including Rebekah's Odd Fellows, The Women's Fellowship Group, Mary Martha, the music study club & the church choir. Margaret was also an avid Tigers fan who enjoyed bowling, reading, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, knitting & cake decorating. Margaret's laughter, bright smile & quick wit will be missed by many. Margaret is survived by her son Kevin, daughter Elizabeth, 9 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Bill. Funeral arrangements made by Young Funeral Home in China Twp., MI. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6th, from 3pm to 8pm & Wednesday, February 7th, from 10am to 11am with funeral service following at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the wishes of the family.
