Margaret DeSot's Obituary
Margaret DeSot, age 92, of Marine City, passed away January 25, 2021. She was born July 13, 1928 in Fraser to the late Daniel and Emma Jack. On September 4, 1948 Margaret married Charles DeSot Jr. He preceded her in death in 2015.
Margaret is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Fraser. She is a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Margaret loved tap dancing, line dancing and doing shows for seniors with the Cherry Beach Dance Group. She would also enjoy a good game of cards or Rummikub and working on puzzles.
Margaret is survived by her children, Steve (Lois) DeSot, Theresa DeSot, Carole (John) Nicholas, James (Patricia) DeSot, Mary (Mike) Hoogerhyde, John (Karen) DeSot, Ann (Steve) Beauvais, Cathy (Kim) Merlo and Rose Folkerts and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her sons, Joseph and Robert DeSot and one brother and 11 sisters.
A funeral mass will be held Monday February 1st at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Interment will be in St. Catherine Cemetery, Algonac.
Visiting hours are Sunday January 31st from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recital at 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Additional visitation will be Monday 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church prior to mass. Margaret’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
