Margaret I. Butler's Obituary
Margaret I. Butler, age 79, of East China Twp., passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024. She was born October 30, 1944 in Detroit to the late Harold and Patricia Conat.
She married John Thomas Butler on February 13, 1965 in Southgate. He passed away on August 22, 1998.
Margaret enjoyed traveling, especially to places with a beach. She also loved to golf and travel on golf trips with her Sweet 16 golf group. Margaret also bowled in many leagues in the area through the years. She loved getting out and doing anything social with her friends and family. She was also a longtime member of Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City.
She is survived by her daughters; Christine Butler and Michelle (Enrique) Espada.
She is also survived by her sisters; Kathy Bennett and Colleen (Larry) Lessley and brother; Raymond (Donna) Conat, along with her sisters in-law; Kathy Conat, Cathy (Dave) Archer and Ginger Butler, along with many nieces, nephews and many close lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter; Patty Butler, her brother; William Conat, brother in-law; Robert Butler and brother and sister in-law; William and MarieThieman.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 24 at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. at church prior to mass.
