Mrs. Mae C. Simmons' Obituary
Mae C. Simmons, age 94, of St. Clair Township, passed away peacefully in her home on January 10, 2013. She was born November 26, 1918 to Flossie and Jayson Smith. She married John Simmons on January 21, 1937. After her retirement from VanKeuren Cleaners she spent her time makeing crafts and loved to sell them at local craft fairs.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband John, two infants; Charles Jason and Ethel Mary, siblings; Andrew, Simon, Charles and Robert Smith, Mabel Mosher, Marie Westrick and Eliza Uppleger.
She is survived by a son Leroy "Joe" (Virginia) Simmons, grandsons; Charles (Cecila) Simmons, Walter (Kathy Joyner) Simmons, great granddaughters; Kristi and Kati Simmons, great great grandchildren; Makenzie, Jonathon and Mallory Hogsett, sisters; Ilene Rynties, Iverna Hyatt as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday January 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Charles and Walter Simmons, Dave Reidel, Dave Uppleger, Ray Dickinson and Herb Westrick.
