Mae Lucille Ernst's Obituary
Mae Lucille Ernst, age 98, of Cottrellville Twp., died May 12, 2015. Mae was born on December 31, 1916 in Rochester, New York, daughter of the late Lena and Lewis Lawson. Mae moved to Marine City in 1948. She was a certified handwriting expert specializing in forgeries and legal documents. Mae was also a 28 year employee at Kroger. Her days were filled with music as she managed to play her piano or organ every day. Her love of music also inspired her to join a local organ club. Playing cards, crafts and garage sales were also things she greatly enjoyed.
Mae is survived by her daughter, Carol Palermo, grandchildren; Rich Phillips, Debora Phillips and Renee Ware all of Port Huron, great granddaughters; Rachel (Jeff) Mitchell and Haly Burns, and great great granddaughter, Serena Mitchell all of Ontario Canada, niece, Nancy Hutchinson of Georgia, son in law, Richard Phillips of Port Huron and faithful fur friend Bella. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Palermo Phillips, husband of 43 years, John Palermo, sister, Emma Crane and husband of 31 years, Raymond Ernst.
The family sincerely thanks Reverence Hospice for their loving care during this most difficult time.
